RESULTS


We successfully accomplished our goal of building a robot with pet-like feautures. We wanted to create something that was highly responsive to user input, something that a person could interface with easily. Switching to the online speech recognition engine allowed us to build a robust system that could immediately understand user input. The robot is able to accurately interpret supported commands nearly 100% of the time. Also, the robot is very effective in detecting objects and navigating towards them autonomously. Although the robot does move somewhat slowly, it is very accurate in locating an object of a specified color and adjusting it's path as it travels towards it. The robot can detect objects that are about 2 feet high and 2 wide from approximately 15 feet away.
