The problem we mainly deal with is automatic balancing camera mount. Automatic balancing is very important for camera balancing, which is useful for aerial photography. As we know, it is very difficult for a drone keeping stable even with automatic pilot machine (APM), which reduces the performance of aerial photography. Automatic balance camera mount can enhance the performance and make stable aerial photography possible.
Our project mainly focuses on automatic balancing with the 3-axis camera mount (Pan/Tile/Roll mount). We use the 3-axis mount to compensate the Euclidian angle errors of the camera (roll, pitch and yaw) and we use the integrated 6-axis motion tracking device, which combines 3-axis gyroscope, 3-axis accelerator and a Digital Motion Processor (DMP). Consequently, we can use the sensor to detect the orientation of our camera and use the 3-axis mount to correct the errors Euclidian angles.
